Film Worker Solidarity Action Rally: August 25, 2023

Good Afternoon Labour friends!

We are hoping for some help in spreading the word on a film worker solidarity action happening this Friday – to support workers affected by ongoing labour action in the US, fighting for a fair contract for the WGA and SAGAFTRA.

These actions have a critical impact on workers in BC, both right now as all work has ground to a halt, but also in future labour negotiations as we negotiate against the same employers when our contracts are up (the AMPTP).

The details for the action are as follows and a press release will be sent on Wednesday to further amplify:

“On Friday, August 25th UBCP/ACTRA, IATSE 891 and others, will be participating in a solidarity rally in support of striking Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and Writers Guild of America (WGA) members….
