Volunteers are the backbone of a successful campaign and that’s why on Friday night at 6:00pm, Laird and I will head to Maple Ridge to do some volunteering for the NDP. Maple Ridge is shaping up to be a battleground in this election with both party leaders making visits to the community. Advance polls open Thursday and run until October 21st. Many union members live in Maple Ridge too. That means our members have a chance to make a difference. We’d love to have you and some of your members volunteer to join us! The Maple Ridge campaign office is at 22610 Dewdney Trunk Road. You will need to come around back, down the alley to the Parking lot!!
If you can’t make it on Friday, there is an event in support of BCNDP in Richmond Queensborough on Sunday afternoon at 3:00pm! Stay tuned on our social media for details. And remember if you can’t volunteer, you can always donate to your local candidate!!!
Thank you for helping us create a future we can all be proud of.
Laird Kronk, President & Sussanne Skidmore, Secretary Treasurer – The BC Federation of Labour
We asked. You answered. Now it’s time to act.
Now we’re moving to the next stage: helping you reach out to your local candidates in the upcoming provincial election – and call on them to support a Future for All and the bold vision of BC it describes.
What does “A Future for All” mean? It means an economy that puts working people first. It means strengthening the social services that families depend on. It means closing the gaps in health care, including full public dental and pharmacare coverage.
Make your voice heard. The email is already written for you – just click the link below and we’ll walk you through it.

Friends,
We are days away from the October 24 BC general election. Thousands have already voted by mail and many more will vote in the advance polls which open tomorrow, Thursday, October 15, and stay open until Wednesday, October 21.
We have a provincial government, led by NDP leader John Horgan, who’s first priority is to fight the pandemic we find ourselves in. By adding resources to long term care facilities, protecting the jobs workers rely on, and assisting tenants to make their rent. The BC NDP is on your side.
We know that the stakes are high. Andrew Wilkinson and the BC Liberals are in it to help their rich, connected friends and give tax breaks to large corporations. We can’t afford to go back to the days of Gordon Campbell and Christy Clark.
BC families need to continue moving forward. Together, we can expand and improve $10/day childcare, support our seniors, make it easier for low income families, continue to improve health care for everyone and create jobs in a greener economy. Going backward is simply not an option.
Make a plan today. Make a plan to get out and vote by mail, the advance polls or on election day. Find your most convenient voting location here: https://elections.bc.ca/voting/where-to-vote/
The Canadian Labour Congress supports John Horgan’s plan for BC. A plan that increases affordability, a better life for working people, equality for all citizens, and government that will fight this pandemic together with all of us.
Join us all and get out and vote and support John Horgan and your BC NDP candidate.

From Wednesday October 21st to Sunday November 1st, 2020 we’ll be holding our annual fall fundraiser! If you can help us out, you can donate through our website, mail a cheque to us or send an e-transfer to admin@coopradio.org.
As always, we are incredibly grateful for your support!
