Rally for ILWU Local 400 to Show Support for Workers at Open Road Mercedes
For over a year ILWU Local 400 Service Technicians have been bargaining for their first Collective Agreement at Open Road Mercedes. The employer has tried multiple tactics to frustrate the process:
- Misinformation
- Suggesting the Union is a third party
- Forcing an unsuccessful decertification vote
- Hiring a third-party negotiator from a website
- Frivolous complaint to the Labour Board
- Empty promises from the Open Road Auto Group CEO
On June 17th, a strike vote was held with 100% voter turnout and 100% votes in favour of strike actions. Since then, the workers started limited strike actions.
Its time for the ILWU, and its friends and allies to show these workers they have our support.
